        "content": "<p>JAKARTA \u2014 Indonesia\u2019s Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has\nseized assets valued at more than Rp 100 billion in its investigation\ninto the alleged corruption case involving the hajj quota administration\nfor 2023\u20132024, which has ensnared former Minister of Religious Affairs\nYaqut Cholil Qoumas.<\/p>\n<p>Asep Guntur Rahayu, Deputy for Prosecution and Execution at the KPK,\nstated that the asset seizure was carried out as part of efforts to\nrecover state financial losses in the case.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn this case, the KPK has seized assets valued at more than Rp 100\nbillion,\u201d Asep said during a press conference at KPK headquarters in\nJakarta on Thursday (12 March 2025).<\/p>\n<p>Asep explained that the seized assets comprise cash in various\ncurrencies: USD 3.7 million, Rp 22 billion, and 16,000 Saudi riyals.<\/p>\n<p>According to calculations by the State Audit Board (BPK), the state\nfinancial losses in the alleged hajj quota corruption case relating to\nIndonesia\u2019s hajj administration for 2023\u20132024 reached Rp 622\nbillion.<\/p>\n<p>The case has also undergone pre-trial proceedings at the South\nJakarta District Court. However, the judge rejected all requests\nsubmitted by Yaqut\u2019s legal team, thereby affirming that the KPK\u2019s\ninvestigation process was legally valid.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, Yaqut remains detained at KPK detention for further\nexamination.<\/p>",
