        "content": "<p>The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) seized a number of luxury\nassets, including large motorcycles, bicycles, and luxury cars from the\nresidence of former Deputy Minister for Immigration and Corrections,\nSilmy Karim, on Friday evening (5\/6). The seizure was carried out after\ninvestigators searched the house of the suspect in an alleged extortion\ncase within the Directorate General of Immigration. Based on\nobservations at the location, the house in the Kebayoran Baru area of\nSouth Jakarta was searched for approximately five hours from 1:46 p.m.\nWIB. During the process, KPK investigators were seen under tight guard\nby Mobile Brigade (Brimob) personnel. Assets removed from Silmy\u2019s\nresidence included two Harley Davidson motorcycles, one Ducati, and two\nPorsche luxury cars. These vehicles were transported using tow trucks.\nIn addition, another tow truck carried items covered with cloth, so\ntheir contents could not yet be confirmed. \u201cAfter the KPK named eight\npeople as suspects in the investigation of this case yesterday, today\nthe team immediately conducted a search at the house of one of the\nsuspects, namely SK,\u201d said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo when confirmed\nin Jakarta. Budi added that investigators believe this search will\nprovide significant additional evidence. \u201cThe KPK believes that in this\nsearch there is additional evidence needed by investigators to help shed\nlight on this case,\u201d he stressed. Meanwhile, Silmy Karim\u2019s legal counsel\nstated a cooperative stance and respect for the ongoing legal process,\nprovided all actions are carried out in accordance with the provisions\nof the Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP). Silmy Karim, along with seven\nofficials within the Immigration department, have been officially\ndetained and named as suspects. They are suspected of being involved in\nextortion practices related to immigration processing for foreign\nnationals (WNA). The KPK suspects Silmy received illicit funds from this\nextortion since serving as Director General of Immigration from January\n2023 to October 2024. This case is an expansion of a covert\ninvestigation related to the Foreign Manpower Utilisation Plan (RPTKA)\nat the Ministry of Manpower, which has been handled by the KPK since\n2025.<\/p>",
