        "content": "<p>The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has seized hundreds of\ngrams of gold bullion during a sting operation (OTT) within the\nDirectorate General of Immigration, under the Ministry of Immigration\nand Correctional Services. The operation, which began on Tuesday night\n(2\/6), is linked to alleged bribery involving the processing of stay\npermits for foreign nationals.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe team secured precious metals in the form of gold. There are\napproximately hundreds of grams,\u201d stated KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo\nat the KPK Juang Building, Jakarta, on Wednesday (3\/6). In addition to\nthe gold, KPK investigators also seized various amounts of cash and\nforeign currency, and have frozen several bank accounts. Budi added that\nthe agency is still calculating the total value of the funds secured\nduring the operation.<\/p>\n<p>The KPK also seized assets consisting of 33 vehicles, including seven\ncars, 15 motorcycles, and 11 bicycles. This operation marks the 11th\nsting operation conducted by the anti-corruption agency so far in\n2026.<\/p>\n<p>The case originated from alleged fraudulent practices in the\nprocessing of Limited Stay Permits (KITAS) and Permanent Stay Permits\n(KITAP) at the Class I Non-TPI Immigration Office in West Jakarta. As of\nWednesday night, the KPK has arrested a total of 17 people. The suspects\ncomprise eight state officials or Civil Servants (ASN) and nine private\nsector individuals suspected of acting as intermediaries.<\/p>\n<p>The KPK also announced that it is currently searching for the Deputy\nMinister of Immigration and Correctional Services, Silmy Karim, who is\nsuspected of being linked to the series of operations. Budi Prasetyorkan\nthat Silmy\u2019s alleged involvement relates to his position while leading\nthe Directorate General of Immigration. Intensive interrogations of the\narrested parties are ongoing at the KPK\u2019s Merah Putih Building.<\/p>",
