        "content": "<p>Jakarta, VIVA \u2013 The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has\nseized five assets related to a suspected gratification case within the\nSecretariat General of the MPR RI, which has ensnared former\nSecretary-General of the MPR RI, Ma\u2019ruf Cahyono.<\/p>\n<p>Acting Director of Investigation at the KPK, Achmad Taufik Husein,\nrevealed that the seized assets include a Harley-Davidson motorcycle, a\nRubicon car, a guitar valued at Rp10 million, a Brompton bicycle valued\nat Rp30 million, and electronic evidence in the form of a Samsung Z Fold\nvalued at Rp20 million.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA number of these items of evidence are suspected to be the proceeds\nof receipts from procurement contractors for goods and services within\nthe Secretariat General of the MPR RI,\u201d said Taufik at the KPK\u2019s Merah\nPutih Building in Jakarta on Thursday, 9 July 2026.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, he said the KPK seized evidence related to home\nrenovation financing amounting to some Rp1.9 billion, as well as\nfinancing for the wedding reception of Ma\u2019ruf Cahyono\u2019s child, held in\nNovember 2020.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe KPK continues to trace assets and evidence connected to this\ncase in order to optimise the recovery of state financial losses,\u201d said\nTaufik.<\/p>\n<p>Previously, on 20 June 2025, the KPK announced the start of an\ninvestigation into a suspected gratification case related to the\nprocurement of goods and services within the Secretariat General of the\nMPR RI.<\/p>\n<p>On 23 June 2025, the KPK began summoning witnesses and announced that\na state official had been named a suspect.<\/p>\n<p>Subsequently, on 3 July 2025, the KPK revealed that the suspect in\nthe case was Ma\u2019ruf Cahyono.<\/p>\n<p>On 9 July 2026, the KPK detained Ma\u2019ruf Cahyono at the State\nDetention Centre at the KPK\u2019s Merah Putih Building.<\/p>\n<p>The KPK suspects that during his tenure as Secretary-General of the\nMPR RI, Ma\u2019ruf Cahyono received gratification amounting to approximately\nRp37.8 billion.
