The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has seized a number of\ndocuments after searching 15 locations in four regions from 5 to 8\nAugust 2026 in connection with an alleged extortion case involving\nsuspended Pemalang Regent Anom Widiyantoro.<\/p>\n
\u201cFrom the searches, investigators seized several documents, including\ndocuments related to projects that are being and will be carried out at\nthe Public Works and Spatial Planning Office (PUPR) of Pemalang\nRegency,\u201d said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to journalists in Jakarta\non Sunday, 9 August 2026.<\/p>\n
Budi said the KPK also seized evidence in the form of mobile phones\nand electronic documents from the searches at 15 locations related to\nthe case, namely ten houses in Pemalang, two houses in Tegal, two houses\nin Pekalongan, and one house in Semarang.<\/p>\n
According to him, the houses belong to parties suspected of being\nconnected to the case.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn addition, the investigation team also seized CCTV recordings at a\nhotel located in Magelang,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Furthermore, he said, the evidence from the searches at 15 locations\nand the CCTV recordings at one hotel in Magelang will be analysed by KPK\ninvestigators.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnalysed by investigators to strengthen the additional evidence\nneeded in the investigation of this case, both to strengthen the\nconstruction of the case and to deepen the role of each party,\u201d he\nexplained.<\/p>\n
Previously, on 28 July 2026, the KPK conducted its 18th sting\noperation of 2026. One of the 21 people arrested in the operation was\nPemalang Regent Anom Widiyantoro.<\/p>\n
On 30 July 2026, the KPK announced the results of the sting operation\nand stated that there were two clusters of cases.<\/p>\n
First, the alleged extortion by Anom Widiyantoro against the Pemalang\nRegency Government apparatus and private parties. In this cluster, the\nsuspects are Anom Widiyantoro and his confidant, Mohamad Haris alias Gus\nHaris.<\/p>\n
Second, the alleged extortion by a police officer and his father\nagainst Anom Widiyantoro.
