        "content": "<p>The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has stated that the sting\noperation (OTT) that led to the arrest of Muara Enim Regent Edison is\nrelated to procurement processes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt concerns procurements within the scope of the Muara Enim Regency\nGovernment, South Sumatra,\u201d said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to\njournalists in Jakarta on Monday, 8 June 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Budi further explained that several state officials arrested in the\noperation are alleged to have received funds from private parties in\nconnection with procurement projects in the Muara Enim Regency\nGovernment.<\/p>\n<p>Previously, the KPK arrested Muara Enim Regent Edison in the 12th\nsting operation of 2026 in South Sumatra.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat is correct,\u201d said KPK Deputy Chairman Fitroh Rohcahyanto to\njournalists in Jakarta on Monday, 8 June 2026.<\/p>\n<p>On a separate occasion, KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo stated that\nthe anti-corruption agency also arrested nine other individuals during\nthe operation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe team secured ten people across the Jakarta and South Sumatra\nregions. Five individuals are from the Muara Enim Regency Government,\nincluding the regent, and the other five are from the private sector,\u201d\nsaid Budi.<\/p>\n<p>The KPK has 24 hours to determine the legal status of those arrested\nin the sting operation, in accordance with the Criminal Procedure Code\n(KUHAP). This operation marks the 12th sting operation conducted by the\nKPK so far in 2026.<\/p>",
