The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has requested an
additional budget for 2027 amounting to IDR 989 billion. The KPK stated
that this figure was determined based on the institution’s operational
requirements. “The proposed additional budget for 2027, which emerged
during discussions with House Commission III, has also undergone a
meticulous calculation process and review of organisational needs,” said
KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to journalists on Friday (19/6/2026).
Budi said the KPK is aware that budgetary support is a crucial part of
ensuring the optimal execution of its duties and functions in
eradicating corruption. He stated that the funds allocated to the KPK
will be used maximally to strengthen anti-corruption efforts.
Furthermore, Budi explained that in its financial governance, the KPK
continues to implement an integrated and sustainable approach, from
programme planning, budgeting, and activity implementation, through to
accountability. He added that the budget formulation process has been
carefully prepared to be well-targeted, so that the KPK’s work can be
felt by the public. “All these stages are carried out inline and
interconnected, accompanied by monitoring mechanisms and periodic
evaluations to ensure every programme runs according to performance
targets and delivers measurable benefits to society,” Budi clarified. He
also conveyed that the KPK is committed to accountable state financial
management. This can be seen from the KPK’s achievement of consistently
maintaining an Unqualified Opinion (Wajar Tanpa Pengecualian/WTP) from
the Audit Board of Indonesia. “This achievement serves as an indicator
that the KPK’s financial governance is conducted in accordance with the
principles of good governance, transparency, and accountability,” he
stated. As is known, the request for additional budget was delivered by
KPK Chairman Setyo Budiyanto during a working meeting with House
Commission III at the Parliament Complex in Jakarta on Wednesday (17/6).
The KPK initially requested an additional budget of IDR 762.30 billion.
Members of House Commission III then supported the KPK in raising the
proposed budget increase. Setyo ultimately proposed an additional budget
for the KPK in 2027 of IDR 989 billion.
",
