        "content": "<p>JAKARTA \u2014 The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) prosecutors\nhave requested the panel of judges to disregard the defence plea\nsubmitted by former Deputy Minister of Manpower, Immanuel Ebenezer\nGerungan, alias Noel.<\/p>\n<p>The statement was made during the defence hearing at the Jakarta\nCorruption Court on Monday, 25 May 2026.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe respond that any statements made by the defendant\u2019s legal counsel\nin their plea are assumptions not supported by evidence,\u201d the\nprosecutors said.<\/p>\n<p>According to the prosecutors, the charging document was based on\nevidence presented during the trial, including witness testimonies and\nelectronic evidence.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTherefore, we believe that responses challenging our analysis in the\ncharging document are unfounded,\u201d they added.<\/p>\n<p>The prosecutors therefore asked the panel of judges to reject the\ndefence plea and accept the previous prosecution demand.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThus, we request the panel of judges to disregard the defence from\nthe defendant\u2019s legal counsel and accept our prosecution demand as read\non 18 May 2026,\u201d they stated.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn response to what the prosecutors have said, we affirm that our\ndefence plea is based on evidence presented during the trial,\u201d said\nNoel\u2019s legal representatives.<\/p>\n<p>Therefore, Noel\u2019s team maintains their defence plea and requests the\npanel of judges to grant their defence.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd what we have submitted in the defence plea should be considered\nin the verdict,\u201d they added.<\/p>",
