        "content": "<p>The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is investigating alleged\nextortion in the processing of stay permits for foreign nationals at the\nNgurah Rai and Denpasar Immigration Offices in Bali on Friday, by\nexamining two witnesses from a service bureau.<\/p>\n<p>KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo in Jakarta said the two witnesses\nexamined were NKY, an employee of PT Bali Soft, and GPA, from the\nprivate sector. \u201cInvestigators are probing the testimony of the two\nwitnesses as service bureau operators regarding the alleged request for\nmoney beyond the official non-tax state revenue (PNBP) tariff payments,\u201d\nBudi said.<\/p>\n<p>According to Budi, investigators are looking into the suspicion that\nthe service bureau was asked to provide money outside the official\ntariff so that the processing of immigration documents, such as limited\nstay permit cards (KITAS), permanent stay permit cards (KITAP), and\nvisas on arrival (VoA), could be facilitated.<\/p>\n<p>In the operation, the KPK detained 17 individuals consisting of eight\nstate officials or civil servants (ASN) and nine private parties\nsuspected of acting as intermediaries for immigration document\nprocessing. Meanwhile, Deputy Minister of Immigration and Corrections\nfor the 2024-2026 period, Silmy Karim, visited the KPK on 3 June 2026 to\nsurrender himself.<\/p>\n<p>Besides former Director General of Immigration for the 2023-2024\nperiod Silmy Karim, other suspects include Acting Director General of\nImmigration for the 2024-2025 period Saffar Muhammad Godam. The KPK also\nnamed Head of the West Java Regional Office of the Directorate General\nof Immigration Jaya Saputra, Head of the Class I Special Non-TPI\nImmigration Office for West Jakarta Ronald Arman Abdullah, Head of the\nSub-Directorate of Stay Permits and Immigration Status Tessar Bayu\nSetyaji and Bagus Bramantyo, Team Leader for the Transfer of Limited\nStay Permit Status Juniadi Sri Priambudi, and Staff of the\nSub-Directorate of Stay Permits Gusti Benardiansyah as suspects.<\/p>\n<p>The suspects are alleged to have gained profits amounting to Rp145.5\nbillion from the practice throughout 2022-2026.<\/p>",
