        "content": "<p>Jakarta \u2014 Indonesia\u2019s Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has\ndesignated Jani alias Marjani (MJN), an aide to suspended Riau Governor\nAbdul Wahid, as a new suspect in an alleged extortion case within the\nRiau Provincial Government.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMJN is suspected of acting together with the Governor in alleged\nextortion related to project budgets in the Department of Public Works,\nSpatial Planning, Housing, Settlement Areas and Land of Riau,\u201d KPK\nspokesperson Budi Prasetyo told journalists in Jakarta on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>Budi stated that MJN is charged with violating Article 12(e) of Law\nNumber 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Corruption Crimes as\namended by Law Number 20 of 2001 in conjunction with Article 20(c) of\nLaw Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code (KUHP).<\/p>\n<p>He noted that the designation of the new suspect indicates the\ninvestigation into the Abdul Wahid case will continue.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will still examine other new evidence more deeply and broadly,\u201d\nhe said.<\/p>\n<p>On 4 November 2025, the KPK announced that Riau Governor\u2019s Technical\nAdvisor Dani M. Nursalam had surrendered to the anti-corruption agency.\nOn 5 November 2025, the KPK announced the designation of Riau Governor\nAbdul Wahid (AW), Head of the Department of Public Works, Spatial\nPlanning, Housing, Settlement Areas and Land (PUPRPKPP) Riau M. Arief\nSetiawan (MAS), and Riau Governor\u2019s Technical Advisor Dani M. Nursalam\n(DAN) as suspects in an alleged corruption case related to extortion\nwithin the Riau Provincial Government in the 2025 budget year.<\/p>",
