        "content": "<p>The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has named Klaten Regent\nHamenang Wajar Ismoyo a suspect in an alleged bribery case involving the\nmanipulation of audit findings by the Audit Board of Indonesia (BPK).\nHamenang was named a suspect after being caught in a KPK sting\noperation.<\/p>\n<p>Acting Director of Investigations Achmad Taufik Husein said at a\npress conference at the KPK\u2019s Merah Putih building in Kuningan, South\nJakarta, on Friday (16 October 2026, that three people had been named\nsuspects:<\/p>\n<ol type=\"1\">\n<li><p>Hamenang Wajar Ismoyo (HWI), Regent of Klaten for the 2025\u20132030\nterm;<\/p><\/li>\n<li><p>Ahmad Luthfi H Rahmatullah (ALU), head of the BPK\u2019s Central Java\noffice; and<\/p><\/li>\n<li><p>Muhammad Amin Wahyu Utomo (MAW), a private-sector figure from PT\nMadani Winasis Creative.<\/p><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>\u201cAfter sufficient evidence was established during the investigation,\nthe KPK named three people as suspects,\u201d Taufik said.<\/p>\n<p>Taufik said all three suspects were immediately detained. They are\nbeing held at the KPK detention centre in the Merah Putih building.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe KPK has detained the suspects for an initial 20 days, from 16\nOctober to 4 November 2026. They are being held at the KPK\u2019s Merah Putih\nbuilding detention centre,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, Klaten Regent Hamenang Wajar Ismoyo had completed\nquestioning by the KPK after being caught in a sting operation. He was\ndetained following questioning.<\/p>\n<p>Hamenang left the KPK\u2019s Merah Putih building in Kuningan, South\nJakarta, at 6.31pm on Friday (16 October 2026), after being questioned\nfollowing the operation, which began the previous day. He was wearing\nthe KPK\u2019s orange detainee vest and had his hands cuffed.<\/p>\n<p>Hamenang was detained alongside two others: Ahmad Luthfi, head of the\nBPK\u2019s Central Java representative office, and private-sector figure M\nAmin Wahyu Utomo.<\/p>",
