The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is monitoring the
implementation of the New Student Admission Selection (SPMB) in South
Jakarta to ensure the student intake process runs transparently and is
free from fraudulent practices or illegal levies. “The arrival of the
KPK team is, of course, to ensure the SPMB can run smoothly and be free
from fraud, cheating, or illegal levies,” said Rosmiati, Head of the
Administrative Subdivision for the South Jakarta Region II Education
Sub-department, when confirmed in Jakarta on Monday. Rosmiati stated
that the KPK team visited several school helpdesks and city helpdesks
spread across the South Jakarta area. She explained that the South
Jakarta Region II SPMB Helpdesk, located at SMAN 70 Jakarta, was one of
the locations visited by the monitoring team. In addition to conducting
monitoring, the organisers also implemented an integrity pact as a form
of shared commitment to ensuring the new student admission process is
conducted according to regulations. “We address this by committing to
create an integrity pact. You can read it at the front, our shared
commitment that, God willing, all our services are free,” she said.
According to her, all services provided to the public, whether directly
or through online channels, are free of charge. The implementation of
the SPMB in South Jakarta involves school helpdesks at each educational
unit and one city helpdesk in each education region. Besides serving the
public face-to-face, the helpdesks also provide services via WhatsApp,
telephone, Instagram, and TikTok live streams to assist the public in
obtaining information regarding the registration process. The government
hopes that oversight from various parties will increase public trust in
the SPMB implementation and minimise potential violations during the
process. The South Jakarta New Student Admission Selection (SPMB)
Helpdesk, centred at SMAN 70 Jakarta, has handled a total of 1,294
public complaints during the 2026 SPMB period. In addition to handling
complaints in person, the helpdesk also receives questions and
consultations through online services. In a single day, the WhatsApp
service can receive around 400 to 500 messages, while the telephone
service receives fewer than 100 calls. Meanwhile, the number of visitors
coming directly to the helpdesk is recorded at around 100 to 150 people
per day during the registration period.
",
