KPK members yet to receive salaries<\/p>\n
JAKARTA: The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) chairman
\nand his four deputies have been working without proper salaries
\nsince they took office in December 2003.<\/p>\n
KPK chairman Taufiequrachman Ruki told members of the House of
\nRepresentatives Commission III on legal and domestic affairs here
\non Wednesday that the government had been paying the antigraft
\nbody executives in an irregular manner, as there was not yet a
\nset salary procedure as stipulated in a regulation governing the
\nmatter.<\/p>\n
Ruki said his office had submitted the draft regulation on the
\nKPK's organizational structure and salaries on March 15, but then
\npresident Megawati Soekarnoputri failed to authorize it, and the
\ncurrent president still had not. -- JP<\/p>",
