The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has issued a new\ninvestigation order (sprindik) concerning the Ministry of Transport\u2019s\nDJKA case for projects located in the South Sumatra region.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have issued an investigation order without suspects,\u201d stated the\nActing Director of Investigation at the KPK, Achmad Taufik Husein, at\nthe KPK Red and White Building in Jakarta on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
The DJKA case involves allegations of bribery related to the\nconstruction and maintenance of railway lines under the Directorate\nGeneral of Railways (DJKA) of the Ministry of Transport.<\/p>\n
On a separate occasion, KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo noted that the\nnew investigation order was issued as of May 2026. \u201cThe KPK issued a new\ninvestigation order as of May 2026. No suspects have been determined\nyet,\u201d said Budi.<\/p>\n
The case originally came to light following a sting operation (OTT)\nconducted by the KPK at the Class I Railway Engineering Office for the\nCentral Java Region on 11 April 2023. The KPK subsequently named 10\nsuspects and detained them in connection with alleged corruption in\nrailway track construction and maintenance projects across Java,\nSumatra, and Sulawesi.<\/p>\n
As of 20 January 2026, the KPK has identified and detained 21\nsuspects in this matter, including Sudewo, a member of Commission V of\nthe Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) for the 2019-2024\nperiod. Additionally, two corporations have also been named as\nsuspects.<\/p>\n
The corruption allegations encompass several projects, including the\nSolo Balapan-Kadipiro-Kalioso double-track railway, railway line\nconstruction in Makassar, four railway construction projects and two\nsupervision projects in Lampegan, Cianjur, as well as projects for the\nrepair of level crossings between Java and Sumatra.
