        "content": "<p>The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is deepening its\ninvestigation into the allocation of Hajj quotas at PT Maktour, a\ncompany owned by Fuad Hasan Masyhur. KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo\nexplained that the investigation involved questioning four staff members\nof PT Maktour on Tuesday (2\/6) as witnesses in the alleged Hajj quota\ncorruption case. He stated that the witnesses were questioned regarding\nthe proposal and mechanism for filling Hajj quotas at Maktour.<\/p>\n<p>Budi further explained that the KPK had intended to summon Fuad Hasan\nMasyhur as a witness on Tuesday, but he was unable to attend as he was\nreported to be in Saudi Arabia for the Hajj pilgrimage. The KPK\ncommenced its investigation into the alleged corruption regarding\nIndonesia\u2019s 2023\u20132024 Hajj quota on 9 August 2025. On 9 January 2026,\nthe KPK named former Minister of Religious Affairs Yaqut Cholil Qoublem\nand his special staff, Ishfah Abidal Aziz (also known as Gus Alex), as\nsuspects.<\/p>\n<p>While Fuad Hasan Masyhur, the owner of the Maktour Hajj organiser,\nhas not been named a suspect, he was previously subject to a travel ban.\nThe KPK received audit results from the Audit Board of Indonesia (BPK)\non 27 February 2026, which indicated state losses in the case reached\nRp622 billion. Following the investigation, the KPK detained Yaqut on 12\nMarch 2026 and Ishfah on 17 March 2026. On 30 March 2026, the KPK named\ntwo additional suspects: Maktour\u2019s Operational Director, Ismail Adham,\nand the former General Chairman of the Indonesian Hajj and Umrah Tour\nTravel Union (Kesthuri), Asrul Aziz Taba.<\/p>",
