        "content": "<p>Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) states\nthat it has reported to President Prabowo Subianto and DPR RI Speaker\nPuan Maharani regarding the results of its study on preventing\ncorruption in the political party governance sector.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cKPK has reported and officially conveyed the study results along\nwith recommendation points to the President and the DPR Speaker,\u201d said\nKPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to journalists in Jakarta on\nSaturday.<\/p>\n<p>Budi explained that KPK\u2019s actions serve as an impetus for the\ngovernment and legislature to realise political system reforms in\nIndonesia.<\/p>\n<p>He stated that there are three main recommendations that KPK deems\nimportant to be promptly followed up or implemented by the government\nand DPR RI.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFirst, amending regulations to the Law Number 7 of 2017 on General\nElections and Law Number 10 of 2016 on Regional Head Elections,\u201d he\nsaid.<\/p>\n<p>Budi explained that the aspects needing change relate to the\nrecruitment of election organisers, campaign methods and voting, vote\ncounting and recapitulation, as well as strengthening articles\nregulating sanctions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSecond, amending regulations to Law Number 2 of 2008 on Political\nParties as amended by Law Number 2 of 2011, by adding scope for\nstandardising political education, cadre development, and political\nparty financial reporting,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSpecifically regarding the discussion of the Bill on Limiting Cash\nTransactions, KPK views this as urgent because the practice of vote\nbuying or money politics (purchase of votes or cash politics, ed.)\nthrough physical cash transactions is still rampant,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>According to Budi, the Bill is important to discuss because the\npractice of vote buying or money politics is seen by KPK as one of the\nentry points for recurring corruption that is difficult to monitor.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTherefore, limiting cash transactions is viewed as one strategic\nstep in efforts to prevent corruption,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>If the three main recommendations are followed up, said Budi, it is\nhoped that improvements in the political party governance system will be\nrealised, particularly in aspects of cadre development to political\neducation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNot only strengthening democracy, but also creating a transparent\nand accountable cadre and candidate process,\u201d he said.<\/p>",
