The Corruption Eradasting Commission (KPK) had previously conducted\nan open investigation regarding alleged corruption within the Free\nNutritious Meal (MBG) programme, managed by the National Nutrition\nAgency (BGN). However, the KPK was pre-empted by the Attorney General\u2019s\nOffice, which suddenly conducted forced summons of related parties and\nraided the BGN office in Central Jakarta. The timeframe between the\ninvestigation order and the full criminal investigation order was only\none week.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is true, we did have an investigation underway,\u201d said the Acting\nDirector of Investigation at the KPK, Achmad Taufik Husein, when\nconfirmed on Monday night (8\/6). When asked about the follow-up to said\ninvestigation, Taufik remained brief, as the Attorney General\u2019s Office\nhas already commenced the investigation process and named suspects. He\nstated that the KPK is currently awaiting potential coordination between\nthe two agencies.<\/p>\n
\u201cTherefore, we will see the synergy regarding the investigation\nprocesses,\u201d he said. Taufik added that the KPK will also conduct a case\nreview or expos\u00e9 to ensure follow-up actions regarding findings obtained\nduring the investigation. \u201cWe will await the case review and the\ndecision made by the leadership,\u201d said Taufik.<\/p>\n
The Attorney General\u2019s Office has already detained three suspects in\nthe alleged corruption case, which has caused state losses in the\nmanagement of the MBG programme. The suspects include BGN leaders Dadan\nHindayana, Sony Sonjaya, and Lodewyk Pusung, all of whom have been\nremoved from their positions.
