Serang, Banten \u2014 The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) says it\nwill give full support to President Prabowo Subianto\u2019s priority\nprogrammes, including Makan Bergizi Gratis (MBG), while emphasising the\nneed to strengthen corruption prevention in their implementation.<\/p>\n
\u2018The KPK, in accordance with its duties and functions, also has an\nobligation to ensure that flagship programmes run well, are properly\ntargeted, transparent, and accountability is maintained, and of course\nthere must be no corruption in their implementation,\u2019 said Aminudin,\nDeputy for Prevention and Monitoring at the KPK, in Serang, Banten, on\nthe evening of Wednesday, 20 May.<\/p>\n
Aminudin stressed the importance of enhancing anti-corruption\nsafeguards, especially because the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) as\nthe programme implementer is a newly formed body still building its\noperating framework and regulations.<\/p>\n
\u2018A new institution, with regulatory framework not yet mature, with\nits organisation also not yet mature, then entrusted with the mandate of\na national programme with a large budget, we need to ensure in its\nimplementation that it is not misused,\u2019 he said.<\/p>\n
Aminudin cited several aspects of concern, including regulatory\nreadiness, organisation, and supporting infrastructure that the\nprogramme requires strengthening.<\/p>\n
\u2018When you look at governance, it could become chaotic. The new\ninstitution is still getting its footing, its infrastructure is not\nready, its organisation and regulations are not ready, yet it has\nalready been entrusted with a fairly large mandate and budget,\u2019 he\nadded.<\/p>\n
He noted that MBG\u2019s 2025 budget reached Rp71 trillion with a\nrealisation of 72.5 per cent or Rp51.5 trillion as of 31 December 2025.\nMeanwhile for 2026, the budget, initially Rp335 trillion, was cut to\nRp268 trillion.<\/p>\n
\u2018That large budget is what pulls the KPK into the prevention arena,\nbecause when a project has a large budget, the risk of fraud or\ncorruption will inevitably be high,\u2019 he said.<\/p>\n
In addition, the KPK assessed that the programme had not yet\ndelivered significant multipliers for communities at village or\nsub-district levels.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Dadan Hindayana, head of the National Nutrition Agency\n(BGN), on 21 April 2026 expressed appreciation for KPK\u2019s assessment of\nMBG governance.<\/p>\n
