KPK\nSpokesperson Budi Prasetyo stated that the case construction indicates a\nduplication of the methods used by Wardoyo when he led Sukoharjo\nRegency. Wardoyo Wijaya served as Regent of Sukoharjo for two terms,\nfrom 2010 to 2015 and 2016 to 2021. \u201cWe see in the case construction\nthat what Regent ETS did duplicates what was done by the previous\nregent, who is also ETS\u2019s husband,\u201d Budi Prasetyo said on Tuesday, 14\nJuly 2026. According to Budi, the similarities extend beyond the pattern\nof extortion to include the exact amounts demanded from employees within\nthe Sukoharjo Regency Government. He explained that investigators found\na pattern of coercion against local government officials to hand over a\nportion of the incentives they received. \u201cEven the rates or the amounts\nof the extortion, the coercion carried out, are exactly the same as\nthose done by the previous regent,\u201d he stated. Budi assessed that the\npractice was a repetition of a previously used scheme. \u201cThis means it is\nindeed a copy-paste of the schemes carried out by the previous regent,\u201d\nhe added. Despite revealing the similarities, the KPK has not confirmed\nwhen Wardoyo Wijaya will be questioned in this case. Budi emphasised\nthat the examination of related parties will be conducted based on the\nneeds of the investigation. In this case, the KPK has named three\nsuspects: Etik Suryani as the suspended Regent of Sukoharjo, Richard Tri\nHandoko as the Head of the Regional Financial and Asset Management\nAgency (BPKAD) of Sukoharjo Regency, and Tri Mulyo as the Head of\nGeneral Affairs of the Sukoharjo Regency Secretariat.
