"summary": "The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has examined cigarette entrepreneur Rokhmawan as a witness in the ongoing investigation into alleged corruption within the Directorate General of Customs and Excise of the Ministry of Finance, specifically regarding cigarette excise management. This follows a previous failed summons on 31 March 2026 and stems from a hand-catch operation on 4 February 2026 that led to the arrest of several officials, including the Head of the West Sumatra Regional Customs Office, Rizal, and subsequent naming of six suspects for bribery and gratifications related to counterfeit imports. Further developments include the designation of additional suspects and the seizure of Rp5.19 billion in cash suspected to be from customs and excise activities, highlighting systemic corruption in tax administration.",
