        "content": "<p>The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) states that the\nenforcement of laws against violations related to general elections at\nnational and regional levels is not yet running optimally. \u201cThe\nenforcement of laws on election violations is also assessed as not yet\nrunning optimally,\u201d said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to journalists\nin Jakarta on Saturday. Budi conveyed this statement after the KPK\u2019s\nstudy found indications of bribery towards election organisers intended\nto manipulate electoral results. \u201cIn addition, there are still gaps in\nthe recruitment and selection process of election organisers, which\ncould potentially produce non-integritous organisers,\u201d he said.\nPreviously, the KPK\u2019s Monitoring Directorate in 2025 conducted a study\nto identify corruption potentials among election organisers. After the\nstudy, the KPK proposed five points for improvement in election\nadministration, hoped to minimise corruption potential. First, the KPK\nencourages strengthening the integrity of election organisers through\nimprovements in selection mechanisms, process transparency, and public\ninvolvement in tracking records. This effort can also be supported by\noptimising the Political Party Information System (SIPOL). Second,\nrestructuring the party political nomination process, including minimum\nmembership requirements and the elimination of provisions that open room\nfor elite intervention in candidates. Third, reform of campaign\nfinancing, including regulation of campaign methods and types as well as\nrestrictions on the use of cash. Fourth, the gradual implementation of\nelectronic voting and vote tabulation in national and regional\nelections. Fifth, strengthening election law enforcement by clarifying\nnorms, expanding legal subjects to every person as giver and receiver,\nand aligning regulations for legislative and regional head\nelections.<\/p>",
