        "content": "<p>Indonesia\u2019s Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has designated\nMarjani, aide to inactive Riau Governor Abdul Wahid, as a suspect.<\/p>\n<p>The designation of the new suspect represents a development in the\ninvestigation into allegations of extortion and\/or receipt of\ngratification involving Abdul Wahid and associates.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe designation of this new suspect confirms that the investigation\nwill continue, and we will see further evidence to examine the matter\nmore deeply and broadly,\u201d said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo at the Red\nand White Building in Jakarta on Monday, 9 March.<\/p>\n<p>Budi was unable to disclose the specific charges against Marjani at\nthis stage. He stated that he would confirm further details with\ninvestigators before releasing information to the public.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI will check the details later. This information about the suspect\ndesignation has only just come through,\u201d Budi said.<\/p>\n<p>In connection with the investigation involving the new suspect, the\nKPK scheduled examinations of three witnesses on this day. They are\nAbdul Wahid, M Arief Setiawan from the Public Works, Spatial Planning,\nHousing, Settlement Areas and Land Agency (PUPR PKPP) of Riau Province,\nand Dani M Nursalam, who served as a technical expert to Abdul\nWahid.<\/p>\n<p>Abdul Wahid, M Arief Setiawan, and Dani M Nursalam have previously\nbeen prosecuted by the KPK. Their cases and evidence have been referred\nfor trial at the Corruption Court (Tipikor).<\/p>\n<p>Abdul Wahid and others are alleged to have violated Article 12(e)\nand\/or Article 12(f) and\/or Article 12B of the Corruption Eradication\nAct (UU Tipikor) read in conjunction with Article 55(1)(1) of the\nCriminal Code.<\/p>",
