JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has
expressed its willingness to monitor the 1,179 Nutrition Service Units
(SPPG) to ensure the Free Nutritious Food program is implemented
optimally and transparently.

This was conveyed by KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo in response to a
letter from Indonesia Corruption Watch (ICW) requesting that the KPK
give special attention to the thousands of Polri SPPGs.

“Of course, the possibility of monitoring these SPPGs is open so that
this program can also optimally provide a positive impact and benefits
to the community, and that all processes, from the planning and
implementation stages to the accountability stage, are carried out in
accordance with procedures and transparently,” said Budi in a statement
on Thursday (February 26, 2026).

Budi said that the KPK would examine the substance of the letter sent
by ICW regarding the findings related to the thousands of Polri SPPGs.
He said that the KPK would also coordinate with the Polri in monitoring
the MBG kitchens.

Budi also invited the public to participate in monitoring and
supervising the MBG program implemented by the government.

“Therefore, we all invite the public to participate in monitoring and
supervising every program carried out by the government,” he said.

Previously, Indonesia Corruption Watch (ICW) asked the Corruption
Eradication Commission (KPK) to give special attention to the 1,779
Nutrition Service Units (SPPG) owned by the Polri.

This was conveyed by ICW Advocacy Division Staff, Yassar Aulia, at
the Merah Putih Building, Jakarta, on Tuesday (February 24, 2026).

“We sent a letter to the Deputy for Prevention and Monitoring. In the
letter, we requested that the Deputy give more attention to the
management mechanism of the SPPGs currently owned by the Polri,” said
Yassar.

Yassar said that ICW highlighted one of the Polri SPPGs which is
managed by an intermediary, namely the Kemala Bhayangkari
Foundation.

He said that the foundation is not the only one, but has many
branches at the regional level.

“So, if we count, there are 490 Polres and 34 Polda. If we look at
the website of the Kemala Bhayangkari Foundation, there are about 419
foundations,” he said.

Yassar suspects that the thousands of SPPGs are managed by the Kemala
Bhayangkari Foundation at the regional level with different
management.

“So, each foundation is generally limited to only 10 SPPGs, but the
Police are not limited at all. So, this has the potential to create
inequality in the management of this project,” he said.

Not only that, Yassar also highlighted an incentive of IDR 6 million
per day for 313 days during the year.

According to ICW’s calculations, the Kemala Bhayangkari Foundation
will receive up to IDR 2 trillion per year.

“So, according to our calculations, if it is true that there are
1,179 SPPGs and they are all managed by the Kemala Bhayangkari
Foundation, the money circulating from the incentive alone for one year
could reach 2 trillion. So, that’s excluding the operational funds and
the initial funds provided by BGN of around 500 million rupiah,” he
said.

KOMPAS.com is committed to providing clear, reliable, and balanced
facts.
