        "content": "<p>Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has stated that\nFuad Hasan Masyhur, the owner of Hajj organiser PT Makassar Toraja, also\nknown as Maktour, attended a rescheduled examination as a witness in the\nalleged corruption case involving Hajj quotas. \u201cIt is correct, this\nmorning witness FHM attended the rescheduled examination related to the\ninvestigation of the Hajj quota case,\u201d KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo\ntold journalists in Jakarta on Thursday. According to Budi, KPK\ninvestigators immediately examined Fuad Hasan upon his arrival at the\nKPK\u2019s Merah Putih Building in Jakarta. The KPK announced the\ncommencement of the investigation into the alleged corruption of\nIndonesia\u2019s 2023-2024 Hajj quotas on 9 August 2025. On 9 January 2026,\nthe KPK named former Religious Affairs Minister Yaqut Cholil Qoumas and\nhis special staff member, Ishfah Abidal Aziz, also known as Gus Alex, as\nsuspects. Fuad Hasan Masyhur was not named a suspect in the case,\nalthough he had previously been placed on a travel ban. The KPK\nsubsequently received the audit results from the Audit Board of\nIndonesia (BPK) on 27 February 2026, which indicated that the potential\nstate loss in the case had reached Rp622 billion. The KPK then detained\nYaqut on 12 March 2026 at the KPK Detention Centre Branch of the Merah\nPutih Building, while Ishfah was detained on 17 March 2026. Yaqut\u2019s\ndetention status was temporarily changed to house arrest on 19 March\n2026 at the request of his family, but he was returned to the KPK\ndetention centre on 24 March 2026. On 30 March 2026, the KPK named two\nnew suspects: Maktour Operational Director Ismail Adham and former\nGeneral Chairman of the Indonesian Hajj and Umrah Tour Travel\nAssociation (KESTHURI) Asrul Aziz Taba.
