The Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Setyo\nBudiyanto, has spoken regarding the possibility of questioning the\nRegent of Bogor, Rudy Susmanto, in relation to a case currently being\nhandled by the anti-corruption agency.<\/p>\n
Setyo stated that the summoning of individuals during the\ninvestigation process is conducted in stages. At present, investigators\nare still summoning several parties deemed to have a direct connection\nto the case.<\/p>\n
\u201cSummoning certainly has its stages; there is a process. Currently,\nthose being summoned are the parties most directly involved,\u201d Setyo said\nat the parliamentary complex in Jakarta on Tuesday (1\/9).<\/p>\n
Setyo added that the decision regarding whether or not to summon the\nBogor Regent, as well as the timing of the examination, remains within\nthe authority of the investigators.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhether they will be summoned later, or whether it will be after\nother parties have been summoned, and so on, is the duty of the\ninvestigators to ensure the necessity and the timing. This will\ncertainly be communicated when the person concerned is summoned,\u201d he\nsaid.<\/p>\n
Some time ago, the KPK issued a general Investigation Order\n(Sprindik) for this case in Bogor Regency. This means that suspects will\nbe sought and identified during the ongoing investigation process.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe KPK has not yet named any suspects because we are still using a\ngeneral Investigation Order. Therefore, we cannot yet disclose\nidentities or other parties in detail, including the construction of the\ncase,\u201d said the Acting Director of Investigation at the KPK, Achmad\nTaufik Husein, at the Red and White Building in Jakarta on Saturday\n(22\/8).<\/p>\n
Taufik requested that the public refrain from speculating or\nconcluding that certain parties have committed a crime before the legal\nprocess is complete and the KPK officially releases information.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn due course, the KPK will communicate the progress of this case\ntransparently to the public in accordance with regulations and\ninvestigative needs, should it be necessary to disclose it to the\nmedia,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
According to information from internal KPK sources obtained by\nCNNIndonesia.com, activities conducted in the Bogor Regency area on\nThursday (20\/8) were part of a Sting Operation (OTT).<\/p>\n
However, this was denied by KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo, who\nstated that there were \u201cactivities to request information following up\non community reports.\u201d<\/p>\n
Several heads of regional departments were reportedly caught in the\nsilent operation, and some underwent questioning at the KPK\u2019s Red and\nWhite Building.<\/p>\n
The KPK also found and secured approximately Rp1.5 billion in cash\nduring the operation in Bogor Regency.<\/p>\n
