KPK asked about other KPU members<\/p>\n
JAKARTA: Lawmakers have demanded that the Corruption
\nEradication Commission (KPK) clarify whether they intend to
\nproceed with graft charges against other members of the General
\nElections Commission (KPU).<\/p>\n
Only one KPU member, Mulyana Wira Kusumah, and secretary-
\ngeneral Sussongko Suhardjo have been convicted in a bribery case,
\nwhile KPU chairman Nazaruddin Syamsuddin and another KPU member
\nRusadi Kantaprawira are standing trial on similar corruption
\ncharges.<\/p>\n
However, the KPK has yet to name as suspects other KPU members
\n-- Chusnul Mar'iyah, Valina Singka Subekti and Ramlan Subakti --
\nas well as two former members -- current justice minister Hamid
\nAwaluddin and Anas Urbaningrum, who recently joined the Democrat
\nParty central board.<\/p>\n
The KPK claims to have insufficient evidence to charge these
\nofficials, despite testimonies from witnesses that they had all
\nreceived kickbacks from partner companies.<\/p>\n
The House of Representatives Commission III for legal affairs
\nsaid the KPK should decide soon whether to name more graft
\nsuspects from the KPU.<\/p>\n

\nCommission III legislator Trimedya Pandjaitan told a hearing with
