The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) arrested Budiman Bayu\nPrasojo, an official from the Directorate General of Customs and Excise,\nafter naming him a suspect in a graft investigation on Thursday,\nFebruary 26th.<\/p>\n
The KPK arrested Budiman at the Directorate General of Customs and\nExcise headquarters on Jalan Ahmad Yani, East Jakarta.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs part of the ongoing investigation, the KPK has named a new\nsuspect, Mr.\u00a0BBP, and a team carried out the arrest today,\u201d said KPK\nspokesperson Budi Prasetyo at the Merah Putih Building, Jakarta, on\nThursday afternoon.<\/p>\n
\u201cBBP is suspected of violating Article 12 B (of the Anti-Corruption\nLaw) or the gratification clause in conjunction with Article 20,\nparagraph c, of the Criminal Code,\u201d Budi said.<\/p>\n
He explained that the legal case against Budiman is an extension of\nthe investigation into alleged bribery and gratification related to\nimport activities.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe naming of BBP as a suspect is based on the examination of\nseveral suspects and other related parties who have been questioned by\ninvestigators, as well as a series of searches. One of the findings was\nrelated to five suitcases containing Rp5 billion,\u201d Budi revealed.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn the results of the search, investigators then delved deeper with\nthe witnesses who were questioned, to find out where the money came from\nand what it was used for, so that the KPK then named BBP as a new\nsuspect in this case,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n
The case involves former Director of Investigation and Enforcement of\nthe Directorate General of Customs and Excise for the period\n2024-January 2026, Rizal; Head of the Sub-Directorate of Intelligence\nfor Enforcement and Investigation of the Directorate General of Customs\nand Excise (Kasubdit Intel P2 DJBC), Sisprian Subiaksono; Head of the\nIntelligence Section of the Directorate General of Customs and Excise\n(Kasi Intel DJBC), Orlando; Chairman of the Import Document Team of PT\nBR, Andri; Owner of PT Blueray, John Field; and Operational Manager of\nPT BR, Dedy Kurniawan.<\/p>\n
The suspects have been detained at the KPK State Detention\nCenter.<\/p>\n
Safe house used for alleged bribery and gratification<\/p>\n
Previously, the KPK had questioned Budiman as a witness to\ninvestigate the use of a safe house in the alleged bribery and\ngratification case related to import activities on Monday, February\n23rd.<\/p>\n
This was a rescheduled hearing after Budiman was absent on Wednesday,\nFebruary 18th.<\/p>\n
