        "content": "<p>KPC agrees to make share offer<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA: PT Kaltim Prima Coal (KPC), which operates a huge<br>\ncoal mine in Sangatta, East Kutai regency, East Kalimantan, said<br>\nit had agreed with the government to proceed to sell 51 percent<br>\nof its stake.<\/p>\n<p>Under the agreement signed on Monday, KPC is valued at US$822<br>\nmillion and the company is to offer the 51 percent stake by March<br>\n31 this year.<\/p>\n<p>\"An offer of sale will be made concurrently to the provincial<br>\ngovernment of East Kalimantan, the East Kutai regency and other<br>\ninterested Indonesian parties pursuant to KPC coal agreement,\"<br>\nthe company said on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>Under the agreement, KPC will make the offer after all related<br>\nlegal actions have been withdrawn.<\/p>\n<p>East Kalimantan recently dropped its lawsuit against KPC,<br>\nwhich was filed at the Central Jakarta District Court last year.<br>\nThe province charged the company of purposely delaying the sale<br>\nof its stake.<\/p>\n<p>KPC is obliged under contract to sell up to 51 percent of its<br>\nstake to either the Indonesian government, Indonesian companies<br>\nor Indonesian citizens, after 10 years of operations. -- JP<\/p>",
