        "content": "<p>The Ministry for the Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers (KP2MI)\nhas successfully repatriated a victim of human trafficking (TPPO) from\nLibya and is using her experience to educate the public on the\nimportance of following legal procedures when seeking work abroad.\nMinister Mukhtarudin confirmed that the victim, identified as AJ, has\nnow returned to her hometown in Cianjur, West Java, after a lengthy\nnegotiation process. \u201cAlhamdulillah, yesterday we repatriated her and\nshe has returned to Cianjur. We have asked her to share her\nunderstanding with the community. This is the result of ignorance, and\nshe became a victim of TPPO,\u201d the Minister said after a working meeting\nwith Commission IX of the Indonesian House of Representatives in Jakarta\non Friday.<\/p>\n<p>The repatriation process was not straightforward. The Minister\nexplained that the government had to engage in extensive negotiations\nand was required to pay compensation to the employer in Libya. He\nconfirmed that AJ was a victim of non-procedural placement and human\ntrafficking, noting that during her time abroad, she was moved between\nseveral employers before finally being rescued. The case gained public\nattention after a video circulated on social media on 26 June, showing\nAJ crying and pleading for help to return to Indonesia after suffering\nmistreatment and being forced to work without rest.<\/p>\n<p>The KP2MI reiterated its commitment to protecting all Indonesian\nmigrant workers who fall victim to trafficking or illegal placement.\n\u201cWhether they are victims of TPPO or non-procedural workers, we will\nhandle it together. Hopefully, there will be no more cases like AJ\u2019s,\u201d\nMukhtarudin stated. The ministry consistently warns citizens to only use\nofficial channels when seeking employment abroad and to remain vigilant\nagainst offers that bypass legal procedures.<\/p>",
