        "content": "<p>The Indonesian National Police\u2019s Corruption Eradication Corps\n(Kortastipidkor) has stated it is ready to face a pretrial motion filed\nby former Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) Febrie\nAdriansyah. \u201cKortastipidkor Polri is ready to face the pretrial\nlawsuit,\u201d said Kortastipidkor Polri Operations Section Head, Senior\nCommissioner Ahmad Yusuf Afandi, to the media in Jakarta on Tuesday.\nAccording to Yusuf, Febrie Adriansyah\u2019s legal team has the right to file\na pretrial motion as it is regulated under Article 1, point 15 of the\nCriminal Procedure Code (KUHAP). He explained that the article limits\nwho may file an objection through the pretrial mechanism, namely the\nsuspect or their family, the victim or their family, and the reporting\nparty, advocate, or legal aid provider authorised to represent the legal\ninterests of the suspect or victim. \u201cThus, in principle, pretrial\nprocedural law is intended for persons or parties who have a direct\nlegal interest and connection to the object of the pretrial,\u201d he said.\nFebrie Adriansyah\u2019s camp is set to file a pretrial motion regarding his\nsuspect designation by both the Attorney General\u2019s Office and the\nNational Police. A member of Febrie\u2019s legal team, Firman Wijaya,\nexplained that his side would submit two pretrial petitions. The first\npetition relates to the coercive measures taken by the Attorney\nGeneral\u2019s Office in naming him a suspect in an alleged money laundering\ncase and the subsequent detention. The second petition concerns the\ncoercive measures in the suspect designation for alleged corruption and\nmoney laundering, as well as the search and seizure conducted by the\nPolda Metro Jaya and\/or the Police\u2019s Corruption Eradication Corps\n(Kortastipidkor). The Attorney General\u2019s Office\u2019s investigation team had\npreviously named Febrie Adriansyah and private sector individual Nurman\nHerin as suspects in the alleged money laundering case. Meanwhile, the\nNational Police named Febrie a suspect for alleged corruption and money\nlaundering in the handling of the PT Asabri case for the 2020-2024\nperiod.
