Indonesia's National Traffic Corps (Korlantas) is preparing to extend the one-way traffic scheme on the Trans-Java toll road from kilometre 263 to 70, potentially further to Batang or Kendal if vehicle volumes surge during the peak of the second wave return flow following the Lebaran holiday. This measure aims to manage increased traffic, with decisions based on overnight monitoring, while the first and second stages of the scheme remain in place to handle early morning surges. Korlantas anticipates the true peak tomorrow, focusing tonight on enforcing restrictions on three-axle logistics vehicles as directed by the National Police Chief.

The National Traffic Corps of the Indonesian National Police
(Korlantas Polri) is preparing a scheme to extend the one-way system
already implemented from kilometre 263 to kilometre 70 on the Trans-Java
toll road. The extension of the one-way system will be carried out if
vehicle volumes increase during the peak of the second wave return
flow.

“We are also preparing for tomorrow morning. So the first and second
stages of the one-way system tonight have not yet been lifted; we are
continuing them to prepare in case there is an early morning surge from
Central Java,” said Head of Korlantas Polri Inspector General Agus
Suryonugroho at kilometre 48 of the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road on
Saturday (28/3/2026).

The extension scheme will be implemented from the Batang toll at
kilometre 275 or Kendal at kilometre 390. If vehicle volumes become even
denser, the one-way system will be further extended from kilometre 414
at GT Kalikangkung, Semarang.

“We just need prayers and blessings for tomorrow; it’s possible that
the third stage of the one-way system will be extended, whether it has
to be to kilometre 414 for the national one-way return flow in the
second stage,” he said.

“Or perhaps if there is no high surge, we might shift to the third
stage of the one-way system, possibly in Batang or Kendal. We will see
tonight or tomorrow morning how much traffic has entered Jakarta,” he
added.

Inspector General Agus stated that the predicted peak of the second
wave return flow has not yet occurred. This is because traffic has
remained steady so far after the peak of the first wave return flow on
24 March.

“It is estimated for tomorrow. Because traffic tonight is also not
too high; instead, tonight we are focusing on enforcing SKB. So on the
orders of the National Police Chief, we are urging logistics business
owners with three axles not to travel yet,” he said.
",
