Korlantas Police Chief Irjen Pol Agus Suryonugroho revealed the\nresults of the analysis and evaluation of Operation Ketupat 2026, which\nsecured this year\u2019s Eid homecoming and return flows.<\/p>\n
In a statement received on Wednesday (1\/4), he stated that Polri\nrecorded a green report with a significant reduction in accident\nfatality rates amid the surge in homecoming and return traffic.<\/p>\n
The evaluation data shows a sharp decline in the number of fatalities\n(MD) by 31.19 per cent, or 136 lives fewer compared to last year\u2019s Eid\nperiod.<\/p>\n
Overall, he said, the number of traffic accident cases also decreased\nby 6.31 per cent from 3,754 cases to 3,517 cases. A decline was also\nrecorded in the category of serious injuries (LB) by 13.8 per cent. This\nproves that preventive steps and the readiness of officers in the field\nhave successfully suppressed the severity of accidents on homecoming\nroutes.<\/p>\n
During the period from 13 to 29 March 2026, vehicle movements at\nJakarta\u2019s main toll gates were monitored as very massive. Outbound\ntraffic from Jakarta reached 3,255,002 vehicles, up 18.43 per cent from\nnormal conditions. Inbound traffic to Jakarta reached 2,989,931\nvehicles, up 10.79 per cent from normal conditions.<\/p>\n

In addition, the smoothness of this year\u2019s homecoming and return\nflows was supported by 285 traffic engineering interventions carried out\nby Korlantas Polri. The public transport sector also experienced a significant increase\nin passengers across all modes.<\/p>\n
The highest increase occurred in the port sector by 15.51 per cent or\n5.52 million passengers, followed by terminals at 11.41 per cent,\nstations at 8.06 per cent, and airports at 6.99 per cent.<\/p>\n
