        "content": "<p>Jakarta (ANTARA) - Even Alex Chandra, a representative from the\nIndonesian Artificial Intelligence Research and Industry Collaboration\n(Korika), stated that to optimally develop Indonesia\u2019s artificial\nintelligence (AI) ecosystem, alignment between universities and industry\nis required regarding AI implementation.<\/p>\n<p>According to Alex, although industries are currently rushing to adopt\nAI into their business processes to avoid falling behind technological\ndevelopments, the opposite is occurring within universities.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt must be acknowledged that many professors and lecturers, fearing\nthat students\u2019 critical thinking will be eroded by using AI, end up\nforcing their students to handwrite every assignment. This is actually\nquite strange because it creates a gap between the needs of campuses and\ncompanies,\u201d said Alex during a discussion organised by OpenAI in Jakarta\non Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>University educators should instead be shaping the mindset of\nstudents\u2014Indonesia\u2019s future digital talent\u2014to understand that AI plays a\nrole in assisting humans rather than replacing them, and that it can\nactually simplify the process of finding solutions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMany people assume that using AI will reduce the essence of human\nthought. That is not the case,\u201d said Alex.<\/p>\n<p>He noted that he frequently utilises generative AI when brainstorming\nor seeking solutions to complete his tasks. Although AI offers various\nsolutions, he does not rely entirely on the provided answers and\ncontinues to rely on his own human analysis.<\/p>\n<p>Beyond universities, he suggested that a shared perception regarding\nthe responsible use of AI should be widely disseminated so that the\nbenefits of the technology can be felt by many, rather than just a\nfew.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe seem to need to launch a campaign asserting that it is okay to\nuse Gen AI, as long as the user remains responsible for the content they\ncreate,\u201d concluded Alex.<\/p>",
