The National Police Commission (Kompolnas) has emphasised that the\nMetro Jaya Regional Police (Polda Metro Jaya) is handling the acid\nattack case against KontraS activist Andrie Yunus in an accountable and\ntransparent manner.<\/p>\n
Kompolnas Commissioner Choirul Anam stated that the commission is\nmonitoring the investigation process being conducted by Polda Metro\nJaya.<\/p>\n
\u201cI believe the most important aspect of the Metro Jaya Regional\nPolice\u2019s presentation yesterday, in which I was also involved, is that\nthe (investigation) process has been accountable throughout,\u201d Anam said\nin Jakarta on Thursday (19\/3), as reported by Antara.<\/p>\n
According to Anam, Polda Metro Jaya\u2019s accountability is evident in\ntheir openness in demonstrating every stage of the case handling to the\npublic.<\/p>\n
From the investigation phase, the results obtained, to concrete\nevidence such as CCTV recordings and the initials of the perpetrators\nthat have been publicised.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo, what is the concrete form? CCTV footage and even initials of\nnames. This is a very positive step in how the law enforcement process\nis proceeding,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
All of these elements, according to Anam, are verifiable by all\nparties. Whether it is the CCTV footage, the number of points, or what\nhappened in the incident, everything can be checked by the public.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is a positive step from Polda Metro Jaya that we need to\nsupport for the revelation of this case,\u201d Anam stated.<\/p>\n
Polda Metro Jaya previously revealed two initials of suspected\nperpetrators in the acid attack on KontraS Deputy Coordinator Andrie\nYunus, namely BHC and MAK.<\/p>\n
This was conveyed by the Director of General Criminal Investigation\nof Polda Metro Jaya, Senior Commissioner Pol Iman Imanuddin, during a\npress conference in Jakarta on Wednesday (18\/3).<\/p>\n
Iman also said that based on the investigation results, it is\npossible that the number of perpetrators exceeds four people, according\nto statements from 15 witnesses who have been examined.<\/p>\n
In addition, the Commander of the TNI Military Police Centre (Puspom)\nTNI, Major General TNI Yusri Nuryanto, confirmed the detention of four\nTNI members suspected of being involved in this case.<\/p>\n
