        "content": "<p>The Indonesian government has officially normalised access to the\nsocial media platform Reddit after the company met several regulatory\nrequirements. The decision was made after the Ministry of Communication\nand Digital Affairs (Komdigi) conducted an audit and engagement process\nregarding Reddit\u2019s compliance in controlling illegal content in\nIndonesia.<\/p>\n<p>Director General of Digital Space Supervision at Komdigi, Alexander\nSabar, stated that normalisation was granted after the government\nconfirmed Reddit had adjusted its content moderation system, including\nimplementing access restrictions specifically for users in\nIndonesia.<\/p>\n<p>Based on Komdigi\u2019s findings, Reddit has applied geoblocking for the\nIndonesian region. The platform has also restricted access to or removed\ncontent prohibited under Indonesian law, such as gambling, pornography,\nand other illegal material.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the restoration of access, Komdigi stressed that Reddit\u2019s\nobligations are not over. The platform must immediately register its\nentity as a Private Electronic System Operator (PSE) and ensure ongoing\ncompliance with all applicable regulations in Indonesia.<\/p>\n<p>The government also cautioned that the normalisation of access could\nbe re-evaluated at any time if violations of the agreed terms are\ndiscovered. Alexander emphasised that if illegal content becomes\naccessible again in Indonesia, Komdigi will take action in accordance\nwith the prevailing regulations.<\/p>",
