        "content": "<p>The government has revealed that Indonesia now possesses a national\ndata centre (NDC) with a substantial capacity to support the country\u2019s\ndigital transformation. Aju Widya Sari, Director of Artificial\nIntelligence and New Technology Ecosystem at the Ministry of\nCommunications and Digital, said the NDC currently has a capacity of\n25,000 CPU cores with memory of 200 terabytes (TB) and storage capacity\nof 40 petabytes (PB). In addition, the centre is supported by\nelectricity capacity of 5.2 megawatts (MW). The government has also\nprepared additional electricity capacity that can be used up to 20 MW.\nAju added that the government also targets building two more national\ndata centres in the future. \u201cThe government also aims to build two more\nnational data centres, in Batam and at IKN,\u201d he said in a speech at the\nNational Forum: Indonesia Digital Leap, Accelerating the Data Centre,\nAI, and Cyber Security Ecosystem for National Economic Growth in Jakarta\non Wednesday (20 May 2026). Beyond the NDC, Indonesia currently has\naround 180 data centres with a capacity of 0.74 watts per capita. The\ngovernment aims to increase national data centre capacity to 6.87 watts\nper capita by 2029. The government also stated that Indonesia already\npossesses various regulations governing data governance and\ncybersecurity. These rules include laws, government regulations,\npresidential regulations, ministerial regulations, and agency\nregulations to strengthen the national digital ecosystem.<\/p>",
