        "content": "<p>The Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs (Komdigi) has\nproposed the substance for the drafting of the One Data Indonesia Bill.\nDeputy Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs Nezar Patria\nproposed that the public and village officials need easier access to\ndata. \u201cHowever, personal data protection must still be maintained,\u201d\nNezar said during a meeting between the House of Representatives\u2019\nLegislation Body (Baleg) and several ministries on the drafting of the\nOne Data Indonesia Bill at the DPR, Jakarta, Thursday, 9 July 2026.\nNezar encouraged data transparency. However, transparency is only for\npublic information and aggregate data. Transparency does not apply to\npersonal and sensitive data. \u201cIt must remain protected.\u201d Komdigi also\nsuggested strengthening cyber security within this one data policy plan.\nThis strengthening needs to be done in cooperation with the National\nCyber and Crypto Agency. Komdigi supports the one data policy. The\nreason is that several ministries have their own data applications. The\nproblem is that these applications are not connected and operate\nindependently. Moreover, he said, the data is not always consistent.\nThis situation affects the direction of decision-making. \u201cThe government\nfinds it difficult to search for the latest data and public references,\u201d\nhe said. Chairman of the Legislation Body (Baleg) of the DPR RI, Bob\nHasan, previously stressed that the One Data Indonesia Bill is being\ndrafted to realise integrated, accurate, and valid data governance as a\nbasis for development planning. \u201cEssentially, the One Data Indonesia Law\nis so that data is not fragmented, but will then find one accurate,\nvalid matter for the purpose of planning,\u201d said Bob when opening the\nWorking Committee meeting on the Drafting of the One Data Indonesia Bill\nat the Nusantara I Building, DPR RI, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday, 3 June\n2026. Bob explained that the discussion of the One Data Indonesia Bill\nhas entered Chapter XIII concerning dispute resolution. Previously, the\nWorking Committee had discussed a number of materials, ranging from\npublic participation, supervision, evaluation and accountability, to\nfunding and incentives. The discussion also covered mechanisms for data\nsharing between agencies, interoperability, as well as data access and\ntransfer.<\/p>",
