        "content": "<p>The Kolaka Tourism Office (Dispar) is preparing 17 marine tourism\ndestinations to anticipate a surge in visitors ahead of the 2026 school\nholiday season in Kolaka Regency, Southeast Sulawesi.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking in Kolaka on Monday, the Head of the Kolaka Tourism Office,\nAndi Pangoriseng, identified the 17 marine destinations as Kalomang\nBeach, Kembar Beach, Watubangga Beach, Poturua, Ambira, Lestari, Sweedy\nBeach, Karamba Beach, and Harapan Beach. The list also includes Tanjung\nKayu Angin Beach, Indah Kapu Beach, Shaka Beach, Kei-Kei Beach, Malaha\nBeach, Pelangi Beach, Tanjung Karang Beach, and Tamborasi Beach.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn facing these school holidays, we expect all destination managers\nto truly prepare themselves and provide maximum service to visitors,\u201d he\nsaid.<\/p>\n<p>Reflecting on previous years, Tamborasi Beach and Kalomang Beach are\npredicted to remain the two most popular and crowded destinations,\ndespite requiring longer travel times compared to beaches closer to the\ncity centre, such as Shaka, Malaha, and Kayu Angin beaches.<\/p>\n<p>Andi explained that the Kolaka Tourism Office is currently focusing\non interventions to arrange supporting infrastructure and facilities at\nthese sites to increase tourist comfort. \u201cOur intervention focuses more\non fulfilling tourist amenities, ranging from the arrangement of\nentrance booths, gazebos, cottages, sanitation facilities (toilets),\nchanging rooms, prayer rooms, and culinary areas,\u201d Andi noted.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to infrastructure, the Kolaka Tourism Office has\ncoordinated with various sectors, including local community policing\n(Babinsa and Bhabinkamtibmas), village governments, and local Tourism\nAwareness Groups (Pokdarwis) to ensure the safety and security of\ntourists during the holiday season.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe also urge managers to prepare specialised staff to guide\ntourists, map out safe areas, and prevent accidents at tourist sites,\u201d\nsaid Andi.<\/p>\n<p>Looking ahead, the office will continue to encourage the improvement\nof human resource capacity within the tourism sector through various\ntraining programmes to advance regional tourism. \u201cIn terms of natural\nbeauty, Kolaka\u2019s tourism potential is just as competitive as other\nregions such as Bali,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>He also appealed to tourists planning beach holidays to maintain\ncoastal cleanliness by practising proper waste management, particularly\nby minimising plastic waste in tourist areas.<\/p>",
