The Klungkung Regency Government will implement work from home (WFH)
or working from home for Civil Servants (ASN) starting this week. Along
with this decision, the Klungkung Human Resources Development and Civil
Service Agency (BKPSDM) has prepared the technical implementation and
reporting procedures for ASN carrying out WFH, including sanctions for
those who misuse WFH.

The Regency Secretary (Sekda) of Klungkung, Anak Agung Gede Lesmana,
when contacted by detikBali, explained that the implementation of WFH
has been decided in accordance with the Ministry of Home Affairs’
circular on WFH for ASN in the regions.

“Klungkung is implementing WFH just like other regencies and cities,”
said Lesmana to detikBali on Monday (6/4/2026).

The technical implementation of WFH will not differ much from other
regencies and cities, meaning it is adjusted to the directives of the
Ministry of Home Affairs’ circular. However, in its application, Lesmana
stated that readiness to implement WFH for ASN has been ensured.

The Klungkung Regency Government through BKPSDM has arranged for
several Regional Work Units (OPD) to begin implementing WFH every
Friday. To anticipate the misuse of WFH duties, procedures for reporting
as well as supervision for ASN carrying out WFH have been prepared.

“The Civil Service Agency has compiled and established the technical
implementation as well as performance reporting procedures for ASN
carrying out official duties via WFH,” explained Lesmana.

Along with these technicalities, sanctions for ASN who misuse WFH
have also been prepared.

Previously, the Chairman of the Klungkung DPRD, AA Gde Anom, assessed
that the implementation of WFH for ASN is still quite risky. According
to him, WFH on Fridays could potentially become a long weekend that
might encourage ASN to go on holidays.

That is why, according to him, the implementation of WFH requires
in-depth study. “I think it is still risky to implement. This Friday,
from the public’s perspective, could become a ‘long weekend’. This could
lead to other impacts. So,” explained Gde Anom.
",
