        "content": "<p>KL to re-evaluate peacekeeping role<\/p>\n<p>KUALA LUMPUR (AP): Malaysia's Defense Ministry announced<br>\nyesterday plans to re-evaluate its role with the United Nations<br>\npeacekeeping mission in Bosnia at the end of June, when its<br>\nmandate expires.<\/p>\n<p>Defense Minister Syed Hamid Albar said that Malaysia's<br>\ndecision to withdraw troops from the war-torn Balkan state will<br>\ndepend on Bosnia's military needs in June, Bernama news agency<br>\nreported.<\/p>\n<p>Syed was quoted as saying that Malaysia has already met with<br>\nrepresentatives from NATO and the UN Security Council to discuss<br>\nthe possibility of reducing its peacekeeping force.<\/p>\n<p>The Bosnian government has asked Malaysia to maintain its<br>\nmilitary personnel, Syed said. However, Malaysia recently reduced<br>\nits number of troops from some 2,000 to 780 based on the improved<br>\nsituation in Bosnia, Syed said.<\/p>",
