        "content": "<p>KL to raise power tariff<\/p>\n<p>KUALA LUMPUR (AFP): Malaysian power giant Tenaga Nasional Bhd.<br>\nsaid over the weekend its new proposed tariff hike will not<br>\nburden consumers.<\/p>\n<p>Executive Chairman Ahmad Tajuddin Ali said the load arising<br>\nfrom the proposed package of adjustments to electricity tariffs<br>\nwould be absorbed by the government, independent power producers<br>\n(IPPs), Tenaga Nasional and consumers.<\/p>\n<p>State-owned Tenaga submitted its proposal for new power<br>\ntariffs in late March, possibly including a cap on fuel prices<br>\nand tax breaks to help improve its finances as credit obligations<br>\nincrease.<\/p>\n<p>Details of the proposed tariff hike which is currently being<br>\nstudied by the government have yet to be made public.<\/p>",
