        "content": "<p>KL to employ more migrants<\/p>\n<p>KUALA LUMPUR (DPA): Malaysia will take in 120,000 more foreign<br>\nworkers, mostly Indonesians and Thais, to meet a labor shortage<br>\nin the construction, plantation and manufacturing sectors,<br>\nreports said on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>The government -- which is in the middle of a campaign to<br>\ndeport illegal foreign workers -- last week approved applications<br>\nby employers to bring in 120,000 more foreign workers over the<br>\nnext few months, following a recent intake of 70,000 foreign<br>\nworkers.<\/p>\n<p>Deputy Home Minister Tajol Rosli Ghazali said the decision<br>\nshowed that despite the current economic downturn, Malaysia still<br>\nhad plenty of jobs available which could not be filled by locals.<\/p>\n<p>Malaysia has 1.3 million registered foreign workers, but<br>\nauthorities believe there are almost two million foreign workers,<br>\nwith the rest being illegals from neighboring countries.<\/p>",
