        "content": "<p>KL to brief envoys on security<\/p>\n<p>MALAYSIA: The government will hold a security briefing for all<br>\nforeign ambassadors in Malaysia to assure them the country is<br>\nsafe after the United States renewed warnings about possible<br>\nterror attacks in Southeast Asia, a senior official said on<br>\nSunday.<\/p>\n<p>Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi said the briefing<br>\nwas necessary because some foreign governments \"have the<br>\nperception that since our country is an Islamic country, we are<br>\nconsidered unsafe.\"<\/p>\n<p>The U.S. State Department last week reissued warnings to<br>\nAmericans in Malaysia, expressing \"continuing concern\" that<br>\nterrorist attacks similar to last October's nightclub bombings in<br>\nBali, Indonesia, which killed 202 people, were still possible in<br>\nother Southeast Asian nations, including Malaysia.<\/p>\n<p>Malaysia's Sabah state was of special concern because of its<br>\nproximity to the southern Philippines, where the al-Qaeda-linked<br>\nAbu Sayyaf group \"remains a security threat,\" said the statement,<br>\nwhich replaced an earlier, similar advisory which expired. --AP<\/p>",
