        "content": "<p>KL to auction sunken treasure<\/p>\n<p>KUALA LUMPUR (Reuter): Malaysia will auction in Amsterdam $20<br>\nmillion worth of treasure recovered from a British ship that sank<br>\nin the Straits of Malacca in 1817, the Star newspaper said<br>\nyesterday.<\/p>\n<p>The Star quoted sources as saying porcelain and artifacts from<br>\nthe merchant vessel Diana have already been shipped to Amsterdam.<\/p>\n<p>The decision to hold an auction in Amsterdam was made last<br>\nweek by a Finance Ministry committee.<\/p>\n<p>The Diana sank after hitting rocks off the Malacca coast while<br>\nsailing to Calcutta from Shanghai. Diana's records said it was<br>\ncarrying 20 tons of porcelain, alum, green tea, nankeen cloth,<br>\nsilk, sugar, camphor, medicinal roots and lead slabs.<\/p>",
