        "content": "<p>KL police detain eight Filipinos<\/p>\n<p>KUALA LUMPUR (DPA): Malaysian marine police arrested on<br>\nWednesday eight Filipinos, who were armed with a shotgun and<br>\nknives, in three boats which illegally entered waters off Sabah<br>\nstate.<\/p>\n<p>Sabah marine police chief Mohamed Yusof Wok said the eight<br>\nwere between the ages of 10 and 36, and were from islands off<br>\nPalawan island in the southern Philippines.<\/p>\n<p>He said police were investigating their motive in trying to<br>\nslip into Sabah, which is Malaysia's nearest territory to the<br>\nsouthern Philippines.<\/p>\n<p>Mohamed said the eight were from the Kagayan community and<br>\nwere heading for Taganak island near Sabah's Sandakan coastal<br>\ntown.<\/p>\n<p>Malaysia has beefed up patrols and security around Sabah<br>\nfollowing the latest abduction of 20 people from a Philippine<br>\nresort island south of Palawan by rebels from the Philippine<br>\nMuslim group the Abu Sayyaf.<\/p>",
