        "content": "<p>KL denies encroachment<\/p>\n<p>KUALA LUMPUR (AFP): A minister Friday denied Indonesian claims<br>\nthat Malaysian loggers moved border markers on Borneo island so<br>\nthey could steal timber from Indonesian territory.<\/p>\n<p>Land and Cooperative Development Minister Kasitah Gaddam said<br>\nchecks by mapping department officials showed that marker stones<br>\nwere still where they had been planted by joint border<br>\ndemarcation teams.<\/p>\n<p>\"Based on the report of the officials, the logging area was<br>\nalso within Malaysian territory and not in Indonesia,\" the<br>\nofficial Bernama news agency quoted Kasitah as saying in the<br>\nnortheastern town of Kota Baru.<\/p>\n<p>\"Allegations that Malaysian loggers had encroached into<br>\nIndonesian territory are unfounded.\"<\/p>\n<p>Indonesia's Forestry Ministry Secretary-General, Suripto, said<br>\nthis week that Jakarta would take Malaysia to the International<br>\nCourt of Justice if it did nothing to end alleged illegal logging<br>\nby its citizens along their border.<\/p>",
