        "content": "<p>KL bourse ready for Y2K<\/p>\n<p>KUALA LUMPUR (Reuters): Malaysia's securities regulator said<br>\non Monday the nation's capital market is ready to face the Y2K<br>\nrollover and a readiness test involving over 100 market<br>\ninstitutions and intermediaries was successful.<\/p>\n<p>The Securities Commission said in a statement a handful of<br>\nmarket companies which were unlikely to complete their Y2K<br>\nprograms had been placed under business restrictions.<\/p>\n<p>\"The Securities Commission (SC) would like to announce that<br>\nthe capital market is ready to face the rollover to the Year<br>\n2000,\" the commission said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>\"A test run was successfully carried out between the SC Y2K<br>\nCommand Center and the response centers of the agencies under the<br>\nSC to ensure effective and smooth communication between SC and<br>\nits constituents during the rollover period.<\/p>\n<p>\"The test was carried out for one full day and involved more<br>\nthan 100 market institutions and intermediaries,\" it said.<\/p>",
