        "content": "<p>JAKARTA \u2013 The Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) is\npartnering with one of the local marketplace platforms or e-commerce to\nexpand market access while providing financial literacy to the managers\nof Red White Fishermen\u2019s Villages (KNMP). Through a national webinar\ntitled \u201cFrom Financial Literacy to Digital Markets: Strategies to\nElevate Fishery Businesses\u201d, cooperative managers are encouraged to\nproduce competitive products and manage businesses professionally.<\/p>\n<p>Acting Director General of the Directorate General for Strengthening\nthe Competitiveness of Marine and Fishery Products (PDSPKP), Machmud,\nstressed that this collaboration is part of the strategy to develop KNMP\nas a priority programme aimed at building a business ecosystem at the\nvillage and production centre levels. In this context, enhancing the\ncapacity of business actors is key so that fishery outputs not only\nincrease in volume but also add value and directly impact the income of\ncoastal communities.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe main challenge for fishery business actors is not only in\nproduction aspects but also in business management. Many businesses are\nactually running but have not developed because their financial\nmanagement is not yet organised,\u201d said Machmud in a written statement in\nJakarta on Sunday (12\/4\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>Machmud views understanding of financial literacy and access to\ndigital markets as important factors in strengthening business capacity,\nespecially for MSMEs in coastal areas.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, with more organised business management and broader\nmarket access, business actors can not only increase production but also\ncreate added value, obtain better prices, and expand marketing reach\nsustainably.<\/p>\n<p>He assured that the strengthening efforts by KKP do not stop at\nonline activities and will continue through direct mentoring and\ntraining at Red White Fishermen\u2019s Village locations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOf course, so that business actors can implement financial literacy\nand the use of digital platforms in a real way according to their\nbusiness conditions,\u201d said Machmud.<\/p>\n<p>He conveyed that in the digital era, e-commerce platforms are no\nlonger an option but a necessity. Understanding financial literacy can\nstart from simple steps such as separating business and personal\nfinances and routinely recording transactions. In addition, the\nutilisation of digital technology is considered an important factor in\ndriving market expansion.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThrough digital platforms, fishery business actors have the\nopportunity to expand markets to the national and even international\nlevels,\u201d said Machmud.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Head of Corporate Affairs at Shopee Indonesia, Satrya\nPinandita, appreciated the opportunity given by KKP to Shopee to be\ndirectly involved in this activity.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, KKP\u2019s steps in strengthening the capacity of\ncooperative managers in KNMP, especially through digital platforms,\nalign with Shopee\u2019s commitment to enhancing the digital capacity of\nIndonesian society.<\/p>",
