        "content": "<p>Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (KKP)\nis inviting fishery entrepreneurs to start using \u201cStelina\u201d or the\nNational Fish Traceability and Logistics System so that captured fish\ncan more easily enter and compete in global markets.<\/p>\n<p>Deputy Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Didit Herdiawan Ashaf\nexplained that the criteria for premium products in the international\nmarket have shifted. Nowadays, physical quality alone is insufficient if\nnot accompanied by evidence of legality and sustainability.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFishery products that are needed today are no longer just\nhigh-quality products, but also those originating from a legal,\ntransparent, traceable supply chain that upholds principles of\nsustainability and social responsibility,\u201d Didit stated in a press\nrelease in Jakarta on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, along with increasing environmental awareness,\nglobal consumers now demand detailed information regarding the origin of\nproducts, capture methods, and the impact of aquaculture on\necosystems.<\/p>\n<p>KKP previously held the Seafood Traceability Technical Alignment and\nIndustry Engagement Workshop on 8 April 2026.<\/p>\n<p>This forum aims to align technical understanding between the\ngovernment and business actors regarding the importance of traceability\nsystems in gaining the trust of international buyers.<\/p>\n<p>According to Didit, this tracking system will also be implemented in\nthe Red and White Fishermen\u2019s Villages so that fishermen\u2019s catches in\nvillages are not only sold in local markets but also have a clear\ntraceability profile to penetrate export markets.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis system provides a comprehensive overview to consumers and at\nthe same time dispels negative issues that Indonesian fishery products\ncome from illegal fishing practices or environmentally damaging\nmethods,\u201d said Machmud.<\/p>",
