        "content": "<p>Kuningan, West Java (ANTARA) - The Central Information Commission\n(KIP) has affirmed that information regarding the forestry sector and\nnatural disasters falls under the category of immediate information that\nmust be disclosed promptly to the public, as it pertains to the\nlivelihood interests of many people.<\/p>\n<p>Deputy Chairman of the KIP, Arya Sandiyudha, in Kuningan, West Java,\non Tuesday, explained that in accordance with the mandate of Law No.\u00a014\nof 2008 on Public Information Disclosure, public bodies are prohibited\nfrom delaying the delivery of information that could threaten public\nsafety or broader societal interests.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo when we talk about forests, the Ministry of Forestry actually has\nthe opportunity to become the leading sector; it can even become the\nmost advanced or superior public body, the most active in providing\nimmediate information services,\u201d said Arya during the discussion forum\n\u201cSynergy of Indonesian Women for Indonesia FOLU NET SINK 2030\u201d at Mount\nCiremai National Park.<\/p>\n<p>He explained that \u201cimmediate\u201d means that as soon as the ministry\nbecomes aware of the information, the public must know about it at that\nvery moment. In the context of forestry, issues such as the status of\nactive volcanoes or the environmental impacts of forest damage are\nlivelihood-related information that must be conveyed actively.<\/p>\n<p>In this way, he stressed that providing information services directly\nfrom public bodies is crucial to stem disinformation and misinformation\nin society. Meanwhile, the absence of official information often creates\ngaps for public misunderstandings, especially during disasters or\ncontroversial environmental issues.<\/p>\n<p>Similarly, the utilisation of digital technology and adaptive\ncommunication strategies is considered key to ensuring that public\ninformation is not only available on websites but is truly accessed by\nthe public.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPublic bodies are the parties that best understand the situation on\nthe ground.
